Christmas Stockings
Oh it is getting close,
To my favorite time of year,
Christmas Time is coming,
Soon Silent Night we'll hear.

Mama unboxed the Christmas,
Decorations with lots of care,
Placed them about on the table,
Over each one, we said a Prayer.

This is a Christmas Custom,
Grandma use to do the same,
Everything in her house,
Was done in Jesus' Sweet Name.

I see the Christmas Stockings,
In beautiful colors bright and bold,
They hold our special treats and,
Represent Myrrh, Frankincense and Gold.

We hang them from the Mantle Piece,
Beneath a large array of Pine and Holly,
The wonderful fragrance of Christmas,
Tickles the nose and makes hearts jolly.

Red Velvet Bows look so pretty,
Mama knows just where to place,
Nestled along the Holly and Pine,
Compliment Golden Bows of Lace.

Oh I love the Christmas Stockings,
They are my favorite decoration,
I can't wait to find what they hold,
We always share without hesitation.

You see, we take the gifts,
The Christmas Stockings hide,
Wrapping or putting in baskets,
Among others to divide.

We know Jesus will be happy,
When we joyfully share,
Through unselfish giving to,
Show others Jesus cares.

Christmas is a special time as,
We remember Christ's Birthday,
Peace and Joy should abound,
Throughout our lives every day.

Happy Birthday Jesus,
I love You my Precious King,
On this and every day,
Sweet Praise to You I'll sing.
