Life In The Woods
Some people think that living in the City,
Is the most glamorous and right thing to do.
But if you ever lived in the country,
The beauty of it surprises you.

There is so much in this world,
That many never see,
The sun shining through the woods,
Lighting just the tips of leaves.

In the Fall they almost look like Christmas trees,
With leaves of every color,
And nature all around you,
An owl hooting on a limb that's hollow.

There is nothing like life in the country,
Living in the woods,
Where every day is new to you,
Seeing things you thought you never would.

The deer will approach your home,
But only cautiously,
He knows his bounds are in the woods,
And that's his place to be.

Placing nuts around the yard,
Or even on the porch,
Will sometime lure the squirrels,
To be a friend of sorts.

We like to watch for all kinds of birds,
Blue Birds, Cardinals, Sparrows all kinds of birds,
They are all God's own creation,
They're here and decorate the whole green Earth.

Sometime in the Spring and Summer,
We'll just sit down under a tree,
And listen to the birds that sing,
And just enjoy the breeze.

There are no train whistles,
Or traffic zooming by,
We just like the feel of freedom,
And the beauty of the eyes.

You can really get your thoughts together,
If you let your mind just wander,
What all you might like to accomplish,
Or thoughts of way back yonder.

When you go inside and day is done,
You have no regrets at all,
You've filled your day with worth while things,
As you watch the trees grow thin and tall.

Such beauty as this can never be made,
By the crafty hands of man,
With all the tools and new ideas,
They can not be made by our own hands.

I like to hear the water run,
From a spring behind the house,
The ripple of the water is,
Just so soothing and quiet as a mouse.

When Fall come again,
And leaves begin to fall,
They will slowly drift down stream,
In all colors of the rainbow.
