"Lucky Charm"

This day, they say, be tainted green
Wit' stuff o' lucky charms,
Now, I sho' ne'er be knowin' such
'Cause I ain't got dem qualms.

Sho', what would be beguilin'
Captivatin' o' me heart,
No enamor, ticklin' fetish
'Twould tell jus' how it are.

Don't hold wit clovers, pussy footin'
Bunny claws and all,
None o' dem allures, allurin'
Fo' I sho' has me Lord.

Horseshoe, bit o' banged up metal
How dems some good luck piece,
When jus' fell off ol' horse's hoof
How 'twould such e'er appease.

Oh, talisman, ol' magnets
What dusty charms fo' me,
"Cause me, I has yon God of heav'n
His pow'r eternally.

Toss good lucks, hands o' fate
In rings o' Irish fun,
Don't needs no rainbow pots o' gold
Fo' I've the grandest love.

Trinkets, amulets, win how
Made o' such tarnished ware,
I'm fascinated wit' my Jesus
He's here, there, everywhere.

I takes Him in tha garden
O'er land and sea and air
My Jesus is my love, my life
My Jesus is my prayer..
