Treasured Nutcracker
Outside the Winter's wind howls,
Snow is silently falling into drifts,
The moon is casting faint shadows as,
Old Saint Nick delivers Christmas gifts.

I was up very early today,
Put on my prettiest dress,
Raced down the stairs to see,
If Santa remembered my address.

Yes, he found it he really did,
There are boxes with pretty bows,
A rocking horse too big to wrap,
And a clown with a red button nose.

A drum with drum sticks and,
Bracelets with pearls too,
The best are the Nutcrackers,
Dressed in reds and blue.

The one I treasure the very most,
Is a leader of the Nutcracker band,
He is dressed like my beloved Daddy,
Who in his uniform looks ever so grand.

Daddy is away from home,
I miss him so when he is away,
Seems like there are always wars,
For his safety me and Mamma pray.

I love my treasured Nutcracker,
I hold him close to my heart,
Singing songs of Christmas time,
Wishing everyone could take part.

It is such a pretty time to me,
Peace and joy just abound,
Jesus' birth is celebrated,
World wide it is renowned.

He was born in a stable,
A place where animals stay,
He lived on Earth like us,
But He went to Heaven one day.

I'll tell His story to the Nutcracker,
I know he will understand,
I'll tell him to help spread the word,
Maybe Peace on Earth will expand.

You want to hold my cherished doll,
I sometimes think he is real,
It seem like when I talk to him,
A little heartbeat I can feel.

He is my treasured Nutcracker,
Yet I will share my joy,
Jesus would like that you know,
And you and I will enjoy.

Oh you are afraid of the mice,
They really won't bother you,
If they come too close just,
Throw at them your shoe.

Merry Christmas to all of you,
That is from the Nutcracker and me,
May Peace fill your hearts today,
And a better world we all see.
~Merry Christmas~
